The original tiny house in modern times.
Sedar Ayres Wagon Co. prides itself on custom designing each wagon to meet the needs of their clients.
We collaborate with you to find a perfect solution for your particular needs. Although a wagon is small (ranging from 100 to 200+ square feet) it is very utilitarian and makes great sense for a home office, artist’s studio, yoga hut, meditation room, fishing camp, luxury bath, writer’s den, guest room, library, romantic retreat – whatever you can imagine.
Sedar Ayres wagons are constructed of sustainable materials, eco friendly paints and stains, and organic fabrics. All wagons can be hard wired for electrical plug-in or solar plug-in and wifi hook up. Or like those of the past – off the grid completely. They can be installed in the location of your choice, or can be mounted on a travel trailer chassis so you can head into the woods for a romantic getaway or memorable fishing trip with your kids or grandkids.
Yes, these wagons are the original tiny homes – built to house the sheep herder trailing his sheep for hundreds of miles from summer to winter range, or the nomadic gypsy living on the road. And today a Sedar Ayres wagon adds a touch of history and romance to your modern lifestyle and becomes a piece of art that will last for generations to come.
All Sedar Ayres wagons are constructed of quality materials:
- Copper (or other metals of choice)
- Recycled or kiln dried custom milled wood
- Copper window screens
- Custom made or recycled windows and doors
- Eco-friendly insulation (recycled from shredded denim, wool, and burlap coffee bags)
- Vintage, hand crafted, or modern lighting and plumbing fixtures
Any Sedar Ayres wagon can gain a cupola or clerestory on the top and a porch at the front or back of a wagon. There is no limit to what can be done as long as it fits within the space and can be supported by the chassis.

“Sedar Ayres wagons are a work of functional art. From the authentic materials selected, to the craftsmanship, every detail of their wagons is considered and rendered with skills and love. Whether as a spare bedroom, or a cozy place to read, our family loves spending time in our shepherd’s wagon. It is the perfect retreat!”
